OpenTouch II Targets Kiosk & Industrial Enclosure Applications

Austin, Texas - March 5, 2002 - TouchSystems Corporation today launched OpenTouch II, the first model in its second-generation all-in-one touch computer line. OpenTouch II is an open-chassis touch system offering more power, speed, and hard-drive capacity than its' predecessor. OpenTouch II is compact, fully configurable and features standard and custom bezel options, making it ideal for any customized integration solution. Available now, OpenTouch II is targeted for kiosk and industrial enclosures.

"With the introduction of OpenTouch II we have affirmed our dedication to offer our customers the state-of-the-art in touch technology products", stated Grieg Spidle, TouchSystems newly appointed President.

TouchSystems recently sold its components business to Touch International, a global supplier of touchscreen products. This change in business strategy enables the company to focus its resources to advance its position in the touch PC and display integration business. Target customers include VARs and Systems Integrators who market to a wide variety of industries, including: point-of-sale, hospitality, industrial and factory automation, kiosks, medical devices and equipment, government and military applications, office automation, and more.

OpenTouch II offers many technological improvements from its predecessor, including:

More Powerful Processing Speed - 1 GHz
Faster Bus Speed - 133 MHz vs 100 MHz
Twice the System Memory - up to 512MB
Twice the FlashDisk Memory - up to 288MB
Larger Hard Drive Capacity - up to 80 Gig

OpenTouch II is an Intel/Celeron PIII, available in 12" and 15" TFT LCD sizes. Pentium IV will be released Q2, 2002. The all-in-one design makes for an incredibly small footprint because the CPU and the monitor are combined into one unit. OpenTouch 12" measures 13.9 in. x 11.1 in. x 4.5 in.

To ease integration, there are three standard bezel options: small, big, and aluminum. Additionally, TouchSystems is geared to quickly and cost-effectively provide custom-designed bezels to meet specific environmental application requirements.
